Leona Louise Lewis (born 3 April 1985) is a British singer and songwriter. She first came to prominence after winning the third series of The X Factor in 2006. With the release of Hurt: The EP and "Trouble", Lewis has had nine top-ten hits in the UK. Nominated for seven Brit Awards and three Grammy Awards, Lewis has sold over 20 million records worldwide. With her four-octave vocal range and powerful, emotional ballads, Lewis has been compared to her idol Whitney Houston.
